Top 10 Breakfasts That Helped Me Lose Weight

We all know how important breakfast is.  For one, it jump starts your metabolism first thing in the morning.  Also, when you start your day off right, your body feels good, and it puts you in the right mindset for the day.  And, It’s no secret that nutrition is the key to weight loss.  Here are my go-to top 10 breakfasts that helped me lose weight.

  1. Peanut Butter Oatmeal

    • Peanut butter oatmeal is quick and easy to make, so there’s no excuse to not start your day off right.  It is satisfying and keeps you feeling fuller for longer.  And best of all, kids love it!

  2. Oatmeal with banana, cinnamon, and walnuts

    • When you combine all these ingredients together you get an amazing breakfast that not only tastes like a sweet treat but is so good for you!
  3. Poached egg with sauteed butternut squash, zucchini, and red pepper

    • When you put all these veggies together with the egg, you get a meal that is packed full of nutrients.  It’s a great way to start off the day and your body will thank you.
  4. Turkey sausage with sweet potato and avocado

    • I absolutely love this recipe and I make it at least three times a month.  I make a big batch and divide them up into baggies so that we can eat them throughout the week.

  5. Scrambled egg with avocado toast

    • This is such a simple meal to make in a pinch.  Just scramble up some eggs, spread some avocado on toast, and sprinkle crushed red pepper on top of the toast.  This is one spicy, nutritional breakfast!
  6. Picky Eater Pancakes

    • They are great for ANY time of day.  We have them for dinner at least two or three times a month (usually on the nights I forgot to take meat out). Picky Eater Pancakes is definitely one of our favorite meals!
  7. Egg muffins

    • This is such a simple breakfast to make.  I suggest cooking a big batch on the weekend and freezing it.  Once this simple breakfast is prepared, you can pull them out of the freezer throughout the week.  It’s a healthy breakfast you can quickly heat up and eat on the go.  No excuses!
  8. Pancake muffins

    • This is another make ahead breakfast.  These are so easy to make.  You can get the kids involved in preparing the pancake mix and adding the toppings.  It’s such an enjoyable breakfast for the whole family!

  9. Oatmeal with peanuts and blueberries

    • This is another variation of my favorite breakfast.  Prepare the oatmeal and top with peanuts and blueberries.  It’s packed with protein and antioxidants.  The salty, sweet combination will excite your taste buds.
  10. Oatmeal muffins

    • Who doesn’t love muffins?!  It’s a way of treating yourself, with a healthy twist.  You can prepare the muffins and add whatever toppings you desire.  We like to make some with peanut butter, some with blueberries, and some with chocolate chips (to satisfy our chocolate craving)!
