To Workout or Not to Workout?
Working out while pregnant can be a bit of a controversial subject. Everyone seems to have an opinion about what you should or shouldn’t do for prenatal workouts. There are arguments about whether to lift weights or not, what type of cardio is appropriate, and how high the heart rate should be while working out.
As moms, we have so much on our plate to begin with. During pregnancy, our body goes through so many changes. It’s important to embrace the changes, because your body is doing something incredible. But that doesn’t mean you have to stop working out. Now is actually the time to stay motivated and maintain your healthy lifestyle!
There are so many benefits to continuing your fitness regimen throughout your pregnancy.
First of all, working out can help relieve stress, prepare your body for delivery, and keep you fit throughout your pregnancy. Exercise can improve your energy during the day, as well as help you sleep better at night. It can also promote muscle tone and strength, and improve posture, which is so important as your precious bump grows. There are also studies that show women who did prenatal yoga experienced less pain and a shorter labor!
Whatever you believe about prenatal workouts just remember to listen to your doctor, listen to your body, and listen to your family.

*In general, if you’ve been working out prior to pregnancy, you can continue working out throughout your pregnancy. As always consult your doctor before starting a new exercise routine.*
